Abstract

|
During the last decade various preparations of synthetic steroid hormones have been produced. Clinical application of synthetic steroid hormones has been suggested for many purposes; dysfunctional uterine bleeding, primary dysmenorrhea, premenstrual tensions, endometriosis, mastodynia, galaeetorrhea, precocious puberty, metastatic endometrial cancer, contraception, infertility, threatened abortion, pre-menopause, etc.
Emphasis on the description of pharmacology of synthetic progestines and clinical applications of synthetic progestines for a variety of gynecologic conditions described in the fore going is summarized.
